Great Challenge - Improved Derby

The concept is the same as usual: during the challenge, players collect horseshoes by completing objectives.

The VIPs can already try to find the new divine horse Tane-Mahuta in the Titan’s Challenge during the Challenge phase, or they wait for the Festivities.

When the Festivities start, there’s a Derby and the divine horse can be found by everyone in the Titan’s Challenge. There have been quite a few changes, mostly for the Derby.

Great Challenge Phase

No changes.
Helping other players brings 1 bonus for the Derby

Derby Phase

According to the total amount of horseshoes collected in total and the threshold reached, there are between 1 and 4 free derby races/day.
Then they cost equus. 50 equus for the first one, then the price is multiplied by 4, etc.
Players choose which horse they want to use
They throw a ball (with a slingshot this time), which lands in a hole that brings from 3 to 6 points.
The points determine how many steps the horses goes forward
According to the rank of the horse, you win a certain number of flags, to be exchanged against gifts in the gifts shop.

The price in flags of one item increases each time (x2)

The divine horse can be bought with flags

Changes

There are no more automatic races

New Bonus: When used, the bonus brings +2 points to each hole. They can be used once per turn.

Tāne-mahuta

New BMI

Click to display

This new BMI is the gift the new divine gives. It is not like the old earth Element.

New Item: Earth Element

A gift from Tāne-mahuta, one of the Maori divines.

From using the Earth element, your horse will get the Earth coat.

This item will give the horse the following bonuses:

Stamina: +5
Speed: +5
Dressage: +8
Gallop: +5
Trot: +5
Jumping: +5

Only horses above than 1 year and 6 months old can use the Earth element

The Earth element cannot be combined with another special coat. If you give a Golden Apple to your horse then the Earth element, it will lose its Golden Apple.

This item cannot be exchanged.

Training and ride duration selection

The time selector (slider or drop-down menu) is adjusted: it cannot propose a training or ride duration that isn’t possible for the horse to do it when there isn’t enough time left (until midnight).

Additional search criteria in the breeding farms for customization items

The following items have been added to the search criteria in the breeding farms:

- Disappeared Golden Apple
- Bewitched Pumpkin
- Apocalypse Seal
- Magic Hat
- Double Sided Medal
- Book of monsters
- Vintage Apple
- Diamond Apple

The Golden Apple criterion now only displays Golden Apple coats.

Prehistoric divines

They now have their own page.

Adjustment for teams

Before, when a VIP member of a team left the team, or lost their VIP account, and there was therefore not enough VIP members to keep all members of the team (as it requires 1 VIP member for 4 places in the team), the system excluded non VIP members by order of seniority in the team (last arrived -> first excluded). Which could be a problem if the team captain is a recent (and non-vip) addition to the team.

Now, we continue to exclude non VIP members by order of seniority in the team, but exclude in priority other members than the captain of the team, even if the captain is the most recent one.

Like Shalassa said, they made a boring and repetitive promotion even worse. I've already skipped the last derby and simply opened Golden Fleece until the divine was in my reserved sales. Probs going to do the same this time.
Don't like this kind of promo at all.

Do you know if that security line with the divine in the sales only comes up when you fail x times or does it apply whether you quit willingly or not?

Do you mean when

you open x number of luck items and the divine then appears in the Reserved Sales if you haven't found the divine?

If so, the festivities haven't started yet, so we won't know until that starts. I don't think the reserved sale will trigger based on how many items you've opened prior to the festivities (it would have to "hold over" because I know of players who open loads of items during the Great Challenge and don't get the reserved sale offer), but I can't say for certain as I've always opened mine once the festivities started.

Last times we had the Lottery/Derby there was some sort of "security line" (for a lack of better wording). If you have bought HoPs/Fleeces for a total cost of 20 passes (including the free one every x ones or inventory) you have gotten the divine in the reserved sales for 20 passes, decreasing with each additional HoP/Fleece down to 5 passes. Or until you have won it in the BMI.

There is nothing on preproiod that states that part has changed from before. We haven't gotten that far yet as the Challenge is still open and we will not know until the Derby part starts. I will certainly let you know when I do.

Team captain is administrator, isn't it ?
And for administration of a team, you don't need to be VIP yourself, so you could be kicked now, but won't after the update,,

The Music Wandering Horses

The concept is the same as usual: players attract the Wandering horses by completing specific objectives. Those horses also bring gifts. Once they have collected all the Wandering horses, they get the Divine horse.

The theme is “Music”, with each wandering horse representing a specific music genre (Hip-hop, Reggae, Jazz, etc.).

There are 11 + 1 wandering horses in total (the +1 being the community wandering horse).

For each Wandering horse you have to complete an objective a certain number of times in order to obtain it. You can see your progression with a meter. Once it is full, you obtain the horse and its attached gift(s).

They aren’t all unlocked from the beginning, you either wait or pay with passes to unlock them.

Changes Since Last Time

There have been quite a few changes for this edition, mostly to simplify it and make it more fun to play.

This contest makes you play with your Wandering horses. You can do almost everything with them, except making them reproduce and give them Black market items. You need a specific item to age them.

For some Wandering horses, you need to perform actions on the Wandering horses you already have (e.g. Equip a Wandering horse with tack, Groom a Wandering horse, Give Mash to a Wandering horse, etc.)

Wandering Horses can participate in competitions (which will be on an objective for a wandering horse). Because of this, competitions have a higher frequency (x4 for normal competitions, x6 for special horses competitions, except for competitions affected by the VIP perk enabling a player to choose the frequency of the competitions – those remain unchanged)

You can age you Wandering Horses with the contest’s item: the Treble Clef. (It can also be used to fill a Wandering horse’s meter). You cannot use aging points on them. (They also age “naturally” once a day, as the other horses)

Treble Clefs: can be obtained through UFOs, in the Weekend offers and when the Wandering horses wake up. They can be used to age a wandering horse or on it’s meter.

There’s isn’t any more “divine” wandering horse. You obtain the jackpot as soon as you have collected all Wandering horses.

The Wandering horses stay on a player’s account until 2 days after the contest ends

The Community Wandering Horse

A new community wandering horse is introduced: the Conductor. It is unlocked when players age enough wandering horses with treble clefs during the contest. Each time the meter is full, a new Community Wandering horse is unlocked.

These horses wander from player to player. (During the contest, playing with them counts for the contest and fills the meter, but they cannot be aged) and stay there for 24 hours.

NEW: When it is on your account, you can buy the coat of the Community Wandering Horse in question now (instead of the Wandering spirit), for 2 passes. This change is also applied to Wilderness.

Bragi is one of the Nordic horses.

Lift the veil that has descended on the Nordic worlds by winning points with rides to Asgard, Midgard and Niflheim. Take care when choosing which ride to go on!

When you get to 900 points, the veil is raised and Bragi gives you a prize:

1 x Harmony Pack

This horse cannot be sold.
