I suppose they made a breed with more coats to give us players a reason to get Ran.
In either way, I don't care about realism in that case. I'm happy we get a new breed with a variety of coats so I have a new (even though short-term) goal.

Wish there would be more heavy spotted coats e.g. Knabstrupper snowflake ones or specials like Curly. Kerry has just the standard ones

Icelandic Hike

We’re taking you on a big ride through Iceland with a brand new contest, where you might encounter puffins and other obstacles….
Inspired by a French card game, the principle is to move forward and avoid obstacles by using cards to reach the final destination with the divine horse.





How it works


The player has a pawn on a board and has to move forward, collect gifts and pass obstacles using specific cards. The board has three lanes and you can always see 3 squares ahead. 1 square = 1 kilometer.


Cards


The player has a deck of 5 random cards. To use a card and make a move, the player needs to use a token. When they use one, a new random one is added to the deck. If the player is blocked, they can get a new set of cards. This refresh is free the 1st time of the day, then it costs 1 pass.

The game always highlights which card(s) can be used where you are (the others are greyed out).



Move forward, 1,2 or 3 kilometers. (Note: if there’s an obstacle after 1 kilometer but you only have x2 or x3 cards, you can still move forward 1 km but then you’ll be blocked and the additional km is/are lost).



Switch card: This card can be used to switch lanes and is especially useful if you don’t have the required counter card or are more interested in the gifts in another lane.
Note: you only move sideways and not forward with this card.



The fish counters the puffin (distracting it with food)
The drill-corn counters the rock (breaks it)
The flying horseshoe counters the obstacle (flies over it)
The naughty joker counters any obstacle and sends it to another player.
It is sent to a random player. You don’t know who, however, the player who receives it sees who they got it from.



In addition to obstacles, players can also encounter gifts and tokens on the board. They need to step on a square to collect the gift it has. (You don’t need to land directly on it, walking on it is enough, for when you use x2 or x3 cards).


If the player is blocked (can use no card) they can get a new set of cards. This refresh is free the 1st time of the day, then it costs 1 pass. The cards of the new set are random but the player should get at least one they can use in their next move.


Tokens

There are several ways of getting Tokens:


login (5/day)
horse rides (5/day)
participating in competitions
in the board
completing collections
buying them with passes (permanent offers not available on the preprod as usual, but there are also special offers)



Checkpoints

There are 10 checkpoints (that can also count as levels), with special gifts : one on each square. When passing a checkpoint, the player has the choice between 3 checkpoint gifts laid on a square of each lane. If they want more than one gift, they can use the switch card.
When passing the last checkpoint, you win Tyr, the jackpot.


Collections: There are collections of cards and you can get tokens for the contest when completing them.

Mobile version: There is a mobile version of this contest. (It might not be available from the start of the preprod).

Norse Cards

The concept is the same as the usual: collect and scratch cards to win gifts. Complete all the puzzles cards to win the new divine horse.

The Jackpots are:

Heimdall from Norse horse series, when you complete all puzzles

10 days VIP, as a diamond card in the gift cards


There have been a few adjustments since last edition:

More cards in the flash sales

The private sale gauge is still there and fills up when the player buys cards in the Flash sales (the higher the rarity, the more points for the gauge) but now it triggers all joker card values progressively:


When the player reaches

10% it triggers a private sale of a Bronze Joker Card

25% it triggers a private sale of a Silver Joker Card

50% it triggers a private sale of a Gold Joker Card

100% or more, it triggers a private sale of a Diamond Joker Card



Completing the puzzles several now enables players to win the divine several times (not limited to 1 divine anymore)

Chimera Horses


We are introducing a brand new species on the game: the Chimera horses!

The Chimera horses are hybrids between horses and other animals. The first one to be introduced will be the Tiger, and there will be other ones, such as Polar Bear, Fish, Dog, Rhino, etc.

They are very similar to the Wild Horses, but with a few differences.





They each have their own landscape.

You need to tame the horses before you can properly play with them.

You can tame them yourself, request help (for equus) and help other players.
There are rankings for the quickest tamers.


Instead of a “country”, they have a “Climate” that can be Cold, Temperate or Hot depending on the horse.


Chimeric horses can refuse some caring actions even when tamed.

The probability to refuse an action depends on the climate related to the horse and the season on the game.

“Cold” horses are less cooperative in Spring and Summer, Temperate in Winter and Summer, Hot in Fall and Winter.


Tiger is the first one to be introduced. To enable players to test this one, each “tester” will receive one by script (but not VIPs).

Creation Space


We will introduce a few changes in the Creation space, for creators but also voters and collectors. All details are in the changelog.

Sending creations to the Black Pearl: players are now limited to 10 creations/month

It is now possible to skip votes during the voting phase up to 3 times/day

In the Creations directory, a “Uses” column has been added. It shows the total number of times a creation was used. It also shows the limit for limited creations. (The Number of items column => still shows the number of living horses with this creation)

The concept of the Chimera's is so cool! And I love the design for Tiger
However, it basically just looks like it does the same thing as the wilds? Just with tiny differences... Not impressed with that. Was hoping it'd be something new and exciting The concept of Chimera's could've been amazing in my opinion if the rewards etc. were different from the wilds.

From what I see they are identical to the Wilds. they tame the same and give a diamond up to age 80. Are not boarded and cannot be sold.

Do we know if the Chimera horses will be obtained through events or luck items?

We on preprod are asking the same question. No one knows how it will be released and the Admins are not saying much.
