Ahhh yes I remember that too, I'm still not too sure if I prefer having them more often or less often default smiley (o)

I used to think until quite recently that I preferred when promotions were on literally all the time, but since we had that 1 week break between the 2 promotions I feel like I had more time to focus on my game? My opinions changed so quickly default smiley xd
Been a while since I've ventured into this topic. What's the next promo? What are the changes to the next promo assuming it'll have been on before?

Great Challenge

Changes since last time:

The layout has changed--

There’s no more puzzle and you win the gifts directly when you reach certain levels of collected horseshoes

Lottery Phase:

The layout has changed

Tickets for/from friends: Now you have to make requests to get your lottery tickets from friends (same as water requests or help for the piñatas), up to 5 per draw. Each help request costs 200 equus.
It’s much simpler and less frustrating than the previous system, especially for players with a lot of friends.

A player can help as many players as she wants.

You can now win clovers in the Lottery (older players might remember it from a few years ago). You can exchange them against gifts in the Lottery shop (same as what we had for the Derby). The price doubles every time you buy an item.

The divine can also be bought in the shop. Golden Fleece

Lottery tickets for spending passes: to rebalance the odds among players, the number of tickets you get from spending passes has been reduced. You now get 1 ticket for each spent pass.

The mobile version was freshened up as well

New Divine.

Haumia-Tiketike is a divine from the brand new Maori series.

Once a day, you can scratch off three turtle’s nests to win either baby turtles or shells.

Baby turtles award Mana points to fill the Tiki gauge.

Once the Tiki gauge is full, you will receive a Water element item. This horse cannot be sold

Hearts Fight!

The principle is still the same as last year: Hearts UFOs are flying around. A player must catch them and throw them to friends to win the gift they contain. The best throwers win gifts.

The 5 players who send the most hearts will win 2 divine horses Ich Liebe Dich and Te Quiero

The next 5 players will win Ich Liebe Dich + 1 x Horn of Plenty

The next 5 players will win Te Quiero + 1 x Horn of Plenty

The next gifts are Horn of Plenty, Golden Apple, Achilles’ Heel, Medusa’s blood, Apollo’s Lyre.

Te Quiero
The principle is the same as Je t’aime and I love you: each one offers 2 diamonds on the 14th of every month (if you connected at least once in the past 3 days) and can be offered to a friend in February.

Also I like the idea that the 5 top players win 2 horses instead of one! Looking forward to (hopefully!) add some to my divine collection ahaha!

Not necessarily. If you think about it, it's more likely the opposite.
When you have the needed knowledge and maybe a bit of experience you can predict the needed things pretty easily and then it's only timing you need to do.

UFOs appear approximately every 3 hours. Or was it 4? Forget the exact period myself every time default smiley (8)
If you know that and when you got your last UFO you can time it accordingly. People usually disconnect about 20-30 minutes before the next UFO -should- appear and log back on soon after.

That way you could end up with more UFOs caught than if you would be connected all the time.

This is a completely revamped version of the Excavations contests we had a few years ago. So much has changed that it’s almost a brand new contest.

Concept

The player is in an Ice Palace and has to break through ice doors with the help of a cute robot (Roby) to progress from room to room and finally get the divine horse Ràn.

How does it work?

You’re in a room with 4 ice-doors in front of you, and have to break one open with Roby's help to go through it to reach the next room, and so on. Once a door has been opened you have to click on the arrow to progress to the next room. (It is also possible to open several doors in the same room, for example if there is more than 1 interesting gift.

The doors are made of ice of a certain thickness and require a certain amount of clicks. Some doors are obstructed by rocks and cannot be opened.

Some doors contain:
Gifts

Wargs (wolf-like creatures) that serve as obstacles. You either wait or complete the proposed objective to go further

Tools to upgrade Roby

Roby:

Roby is a little foraging robot, your companion on this mission to get Ràn. Roby digs and forages on the ice doors to break them. Roby uses energy when digging through doors.

Once the energy gauge is empty, you either wait some time or pay for a refill for 1 pass. The battery refills point by point starting with one every 4h, and can be upgraded to reach one every 30 minutes.

Roby upgrades:

In some doors you can collect tools to upgrade Roby.

Once you have five tools you can upgrade Roby.
There are 3 types of upgrade, depending on the player’s strategy/preferred way of playing. You have to choose among:

Upgrade A: increases the battery’s capacity (convenient if you log in less often)

Upgrade B: accelerates the battery regeneration

Upgrade C: increases the power of each drill (clicks)

Roby can be upgraded 3 times. Each time you upgrade again, you can choose among the 3 offered upgrade types.

Dynamite:

If Roby doesn’t have any energy left, you can also buy dynamite to break the doors. 1 Dynamite counts as 5 clicks.

New Divine.

Picture to come later.

Ràn

She belongs to the Nordic divines.
Her gift is a foal from a breed/color the player doesn’t have.

If the player has them all already, they’ll get a random one (breed and color).

Wind Divine horses

On the page of a wind divine horse, in the block with the wind direction, you can now see how many points will be gained with one hour of riding. ( this is an additional bit of text to tell you what the point gain will be without having to actually click on the bar.)

Ow's Helios Ray

2 new backgrounds are being added to Ow's Helios Ray collection!

New Wandering horse will visit you.

The latest Wandering Horses (Environments) have been added to the Wandering Spirit.

Slightly better than Hipparion because you even get a random foal if you already own all coats/breeds. However not THAT must have divine imo. Preferring divines which give BMI/diamonds, so this one rather poor.
Hoped for a better one, will get her just for the collection.

Ps: Really liked the excavation promo back in time, so keen on pictures of that ice thingy.

Totally agree.

Except for the collection part. I don't care for collections and get divines only if I like their gift or similar reasons. But a random foal? Would have been something different if it were a random unicorn like Kaktos. But regular foals aren't worth anything nowadays and are only helpful for a small minority who are interested in NIBs

Somehow the mouth looks halfway like a dog. And the tail looks more like it wasn't planned first but added later on. And the headband and necklace doesn't really fit in as well...
The blue/purple colour is nice but I have clearly seen better divines.

But then, a weird design for a mediocre perk is alright I guess default smiley (8)

Somehow I don't get that inspired by it. I don't like divines that look like half mermaids. There are a few that fall into this design on Howrse and don't like any of them.

Right. Disjointed was the word not coming into mind. Thanks for that!
Not just you. But can't point at the origin of it.
