They must be gotten from decorated trees. That means you must decorate a tree just to get one of the tree or divine hanging ornament. So based on that factor-- I Love You Divine is 6 divine ornaments. = 25 passes Sequoia or Tangaroa needs 7 divine ornaments = 28 passes Tanaris needs 9 divine ornaments = 34 passes Thor needs 11 divine ornamentsys = 41

I am putting the entire Dec promo(s) here so it is in one place as well as additions learned from preprod these last few weeks.I think I covered everything.
 Contest/event stuff [spoiler] 1. Return of the Advent Calendar. Works the same as last year mostly. Windows hold either prizes or decorations for the Pine Tree event. On Sundays there is a rare possibility you will find a divine. Je'Taime was possible the first Sunday, not sure the other days yet, or if these will be the divines in the live version. If you miss logging in to open a window you can pay to open it later, which starts at 500e, and I suspect it goes up with each window opened. My guess is that the Calendar will start on Dec. 1, then the Pine trees will open a week or two later. 2. Howrse.De's (German) birthday candle hunt. Works the same as candle hunts we've had for France and INT's birthday. You get clues to find 10 candles and when you get all the candles we get a prize (Vintage Apple). Super easy, and fun, so I won't bother posting the clues which looked to be the same ones as previous hunts. Someone posted the date for this, but I can't remember what it was 3. My Beautiful Pine Trees (main event): It's quite different than we've had it in previous years. Please make note of the arrows/boxes/highlights etc. I made around important sections.     [/spoiler:0] Prizes/Divine Stuff [spoiler]New divines:  ThorThor is one of the Nordic horses. Lift the veil that has descended on the Nordic worlds by winning points with rides to Asgard, Midgard and Niflheim. Take care when choosing which ride to go on! When you get to 420 points, the veil is raised and Thor gives you a prize: eclairzeus 1 x Zeus' Lightning Bolt This horse cannot be sold.  LokiWe do *not* know his perk yet. Judging by the images of the Xmas packs, we'll have to buy the Packs (costs real money) to get him. He'll likely be released later on in a TC or Fleece or something like the divine from last year, is my guess.  BlitzenAs noted in the Contest spoiler above she is gotten from the Pine Tree tutorial to help us earn decorations. We get to keep her *even after the event ends!!* but she won't have any bonuses. It's unknown at this time if she'll be able to enter regular competitions, or if she'll keep the skills gained from the contest. Falacorns! Looks like one of the Xmas Packs will contain a new Falacorn (that name is derived from the new Falabella Special Horses page. We don't have any perks/info for it yet, but it looks like a unicorn Falabella. Pine Tree prizes: The prizes probably don't seem like much, but keep in mind we are getting a free divine out of this. The tree and horse statue ornament are decorations to be used in the contest. The red tack items (Noelle) are a new tack set, that are identical to the one Blitzen wears and we'll be able to put those on regular horses.  [/spoiler:0] Special offers Click to display Every year Howrse offers the Christmas Packs that can be bought with real money. Aside from the images posted we don't yet have details as to this year's price, date release or exact contents. I'm not sure we were given this info during preprod last year anyway.     The Pine Tree offer: Decoration Packs for 1 pass= 3 tinsel, 3 baubles, 3 ornaments. Tips/strategy/spending Click to display Where to start... Here are the ornament requirements collected. If you open the images and hit CTRL+scroll with the mouse wheel you can zoom in. Keep in mind it's possible for the requirements to change when this goes live.   If you want any of the divines, I recommend focusing on trees that each level you can complete with one decoration pack (I highlighted those). The blue highlights are more ideal because you only need 2 of each type and the Packs give 3 of each. To get Thor in particular: Since you have to first unlock trees by Blitzen gaining skills (you gain skills by decorating trees), focus on the Oriental tree first as each level can be completed with 1 Deco Pack. When you get 90 skills to unlock Bristlecone, work on level 1 only and complete that X times until you get 120 skills to unlock the Love Tree. Complete any or all of the first 3 levels as needed (you can either just do the first level, or go all the way to the A.Tear level if you want as the skills for finishing the Tears level is the same as if you'd completed the first level 3 times anyway) until you get 200 skills to unlock the Plant Tree. You now want to get to the 3rd level (the ornament level) and complete that level 11 times as on preprod at least we need 11 divine ornaments to get Thor. Since the 3rd level gives Blitzen 96 skills along with the ornament, the process of getting the ornaments will give Blitzen enough skills to unlock Thor's tree. All trees require the regular baubles, tinsel and regular hanging ornaments but the divine tree require the special hanging ones that cannot be bought. They must be gotten from decorated trees{ but can be won from Blitzen and the Advent Calendar).. That means to get the decoration via the tree you must decorate a tree just to get one of the tree or divine hanging ornament. So based on no decorations from other sources than the tree I offer this calculation. I Love You Divine is 6 divine ornaments. = 25 passes Sequoia or Tangaroa needs 7 divine ornaments = 28 passes Tanaris needs 9 divine ornaments = 34 passes Thor needs 11 divine ornaments = 41 However since you can get those divine hanging ornaments from the Advent Calendar which starts on Dec 1st as well from Blitzen. So each one of these rare decorations you get lowers the potential cost by 2/3 passes. Blitzen as it stands will gain skills during the promo and retains those skills after. However no comp section will show so it cannot go into any comps. There is some discussion on giving Blitzen a perk but nothing confirmed. New stuff special to this promo only. I know this is no longer a spoiler, but there isn't a specific topic for it. The Birthday Celebration keeps glitching on all servers on Clue #4 where you have to go to a player's page whose birthday it is, but it can only be resolved by going to a player whose birthday was yesterday. Can someone link a player whose birthday was yesterday so everyone can progress as needed?

It was brought up on preprod as were various other things. I learned that nothing is written in stone with Howrse so magical things can happen.  It sure would be nice and even more so if breedable ones showed up.

Question. If the Pine Tree promotion ends and we don't manage to complete Blitzen's skill set is there a chance we can? Or can she only gain skill stars by decorating the trees?

Only tree decoration increases her skills. After the promo whatever skills she has is what she keeps. There is no set " skill set". She will not be able to enter regular comps and becomes a pasture pet after. ( and a cute one at that). You will also not win 1st every time you comp Blitzen during the promo and each entry takes a large amount of energy. I highly recommend putting a heel and P Stroke on her to give yourself some insurance.

January's promo.
Click to display Seasons Mazes The concept is loosely the same as last year (get trees, decorate them and get gifts) but most of the contest has changed since last year. There is one Maze for each season (so 4 in total, that become bigger and bigger) with a big gift at the end of each one, and a tiny tutorial Maze. The Jackpot is the Celtic divine Dagda, at the end of the 4th maze. Adjustments/New features: There’s a tutorial with a whole maze (tiny one) You now get a more immersive view into the Maze (1st person view instead of a view from the top looking at your horse). This means that every time you take a turn, the directions turn as well. To avoid getting lost, there are several little tools/tips to know about: The background changes whether you’re facing North/South/East/West When there’s something to get on the next square, it is displayed on the arrow to help for the orientation Hovering over an arrow shows which spot you will go to on the map (a red box is shown) There are now Shortcuts, but you need to overcome obstacles to get through. Shortcuts The obstacles are quite diverse (rock, tree trunk, chasm, river, rainbow,…) and require specific horses/species to overcome them (donkey, draft horse, Pegasus, water element, unicorn…). The required horse isn’t specifically mentioned, but there are hints that should help you guess. The difficulty of the obstacles (i.e. required value) increases when the mazes get bigger. Collections There are now collections that contain the different shortcuts. You can win additional treats when you complete them. Mobile Version There is a mobile version, but it’s only with the map, not the immersive version. Divine Click to display Dagda Celtic Divine Dagda is a divine from the Celtic series. Find all 5 Oghamic letters from their prediction by using their powers of divination every day. Once you have completed the prediction, you will either get: 1 x Pandora's Box 1 x Artemis' Arrow 5000 x Equus Click to display  Other changes Click to display We are simplifying and merging the system of giving skills to divines manually and with diamonds. Something coming up that all player MUST be aware of.
Click to display All divines that generate skills like the Solars, Egyptians, Winds, Gems some Chinese and Seasons will now have the placement of their generated skills done differently. When you get you skills you will no longer see a drop box to place them. What you do now is click the + sign beside the skill you want increased and a pop up will show. What will surprise you is a number 1 will show with a diamond icon beside it. At first I thought it would take a diamond but that will only happen if you skill the gems. So you change the number 1 to any number you want and that will be what will be added to that skill. This is going to take everyone for a loop unless you are aware of this change. Not sure if clear instructions will be given, hence the post here.
