Cakes!

The contest is based on the same principle as previously, but there have been changes to simplify it.

The jackpots are Fairycake and Cupcake, first pair of divines of the new Pastry divines series.

Concept:

The aim of this event is to collect ingredients and use them to bake cakes in order to obtain the gifts or ingredients they bring.

Some cakes bring items, some bring ingredients and some (the Cupcake) fill a gauge to reach the divine.

At certain points during the event, players have the opportunity to buy packs of ingredients on the Black Market.

How does it work?

Obtaining Ingredients
The player collects ingredients:
at the first connection
by completing daily objectives
by baking them
with packs of ingredients on the Black Market at specific moments

[NEW] by recycling the divine ingredient (the cupcake) to obtain butter

Baking Cupcakes

The player bakes a cake by putting 2 ingredients in the bowl.

[NEW: there are recipes with two of the same ingredient]

They see which item is obtained with this potion and they validate to brew it or cancel it to try another recipe.

Discovering a recipe for the first time unlocks it. Unlocked recipes (+ how many times you made them and how long they take) can be seen on the gifts page. There is a new horse breed in the gifts.

[NEW] After a few days of contest, all recipes are unlocked for everyone on the gifts page.

The cakes take some time to bake, and it increases every time you make this recipe again.

Boosters reduce the baking time by 2 hours. (Boosters can be obtained at the first connection, with the daily objectives, bought, won in the collections)
The player has 3 bowls and can bake 3 cakes simultaneously.

Daily Objectives

At the beginning there are 2 daily objectives that bring ingredients and gifts for the contest, and if they reach the Community goal of baking enough cakes, they unlock a third daily objective.

The Divines

You need to bake the divine ingredient: cupcakes.
Every time you take a cupcake out of the oven, 1 point is added to the divine gauge.
You first start with Cupcake which requires 50 cupcakes.
Once you have obtained him, you can progress further and obtain Fairycake (which also requires 50 cupcakes).

Collections

The collections include the ingredients you have to bake yourself and give additional gifts.

Changes since last time

- You can make a cake with twice the same ingredient (eggs + eggs, butter+butter). The result is another ingredient.

- You don’t need to make a recipe with the divine ingredient anymore. Once you get one (cupcake) it automatically fills the gauge to obtain the divine horse.

- You can recycle a cupcake into butter if you change your mind and don’t want to play for the divine anymore

- You need to prepare Cupcakes to fill the gauge for the divine horses

Cupcake & Fairycake

With this contest, we introduce a brand new divine series: the Pastry Divines!

They always come in pairs: 1 male divine, 1 female divine. Both are a version of a specific pastry.

For the first pair, we have Cupcake and Fairycake.

How They Work

They increase the chances to find sugar with your other horses during their actions (with each additional Pastry horse, the chances increase – it cumulates).

Their skills can be increased with diamonds.

If you own both, you can make a covering offer with the stallion to the mare. The baby of this covering will be a foal from the same region as the pastry.

Every morning when she wakes up, the mare gives sugar pearls that fill a gauge. The fuller the gauge is at the time of the covering, the higher the inborn skills of the foal will be.

OK...

anyone else getting the impression those two look like some uninspired copy&paste colour filtered horses? I know the saddle cloth has different decoration but still...

And what exactly is the sugar for? I doubt (or rather hope) we're talking about the normal sugar cubes horses randomly find.

These are ingredients to make various things. This promo is similar to the Halloween one we had where we put various ingredients together to make things but not quite the same.

Doubt that as the divine are the main price..
Click to display
and why would the main price of a promo give you ingredients for the same promo? They're not blitzen..

And about the new breed: there's a ft in the price list. Maybe that's just some space holder or so. But again I merely spoilered an image from DE's server which is as accurate as the INT one in regards of spoilers

And no, the price list doesn't help me at all

And in case you didn't noticed:

The price list mentions a French Trotter. INT doesn't have them yet -> New breed being released.
As UK already has them chances are high that we will get a Hackney instead. Or any other new breed not available on here.

It is possible but since

We are suggesting pastries for the foal that will come from the different regions there will be a foal from the divines. How many I don't know. The French trotter was probably listed simply because the game is France based so I expect it will be a foal from whatever region the server is based..so maybe a Welsh for the UK server???

Nope. Those are two completely different things.

Basically: Fairy is pregnant for 24 months and will give you either a Curly, Mustang or Quarter afterwards. Of course those three breeds are linked to a given server but as UK has all three of them I assume we get the same there. But could be three completely different breeds instead but none of them will be new.

Unless you're a foundy collector/breeder, these divines are basically useless. They could have gone down the same route as Kaktus but instead with normal horses and in a coat you don't already have (for example). As far as I know, sugar doesn't even give any bonus' to the horses (correct me if I'm wrong).
The actaul designs are terrible. We go from beautiful divines such as Rehua and Dagda (personal favourites) to the most generic designs I've ever seen. Obviously copy and pasted with the only change being the pink/blue mane and tail and saddle cloth. The pink coat has obviously just been lightened and the lines look harsh(especially where the main and tail join the body), nothing at all like the normal quality of divines. I see better coats than these divines in the creative space

All I can suggest is to go to contact us with your complaints. Your thoughts however have been expressed on the main preprod but at this point major changes are not doable.

I think this topic allows people to talk about these changes, as Ow did say when opening the topic "you may talk about what isn’t on the game yet" and as far as I can see "these complaints" are still "talking"... and I don't think OhNo, kassandra or anyone who posted above asked for howrse to reconsider the divine or even suggest changes? default smiley :)

To answer about the

the Divines' perk: The sugar pearls the Pastry Divines find adds to the mare's "sugar pearl" meter. The higher the meter at the time she is covered, the more IBS the foal will have. I've asked whether the stallion will also have a meter, because that would also contribute to the foal's IBS if so, but I'm guessing he won't since there is no mention of it on his page.

My current guess is that you'll still get foundation level GP foal, but it's difference from the Kaktos and Hipparion foals is that it'll have IBS. You'll also be able to increase Pastry Divine's skills with diamonds, though it's something I never do with the ones I have on INT

Breeding will be unlimited. Also there will be an offer of cupcakes in the TC at all levels ( much like the treats we had at Halloween) The special will also be "" buy one pack of 6 ingredients (from the first 6), 1 Cupcake and 12 boosters for only 1 pass for the cake event!"". So when buying the pack you get a cupcake that will go toward getting the two divines. It seems to me that is will be one of the most reasonable promos offered this year so far.

[quote=1396266196]Really confused now default smiley :sdefault smiley xd Black market says 8am but banner says 9am??? I will go have a coffee and just wait to see what happens default smiley (lol)

Howrse doesn't always take into account that we have British Summer Time... The times are often an hour out during the summer in the UK - All messages tend to come with GMT times on them but other locations can vary. It would just be simpler if they would state the timezone they are using next to it then all confusion would be gone!

Looks like UK is getting the Selle Francais which has the following stats:

Jumping, speed and dressage in that order. So again, a subpar breed for a Grand Prix.. Can't they implement a breed which is actually suited for Reining?
