Skills higher than GP

Hey everyone,

Sorry in advance as I feel this is a bit of a silly question, but just something I'm struggling to wrap my head around..

I can't understand why some horses have total skills so much higher than their Genetic Potential. I understand inborn skills also play a factor, however I came across this particular horse where both parents GP AND skills where exactly 1200 (pastry horses), however, the offspring at 1yr 6months had ~19000 skills already (but a GP of 5800). This horse had no items other than iron mask coat.

I'm sure the answer is simple but I just can't seem to connect the dots!

Is there any benefit these high skills bring to this particular horse's future offspring?

Thanks so much in advance to anyone who can explain this to me!

pastry horse offspring have low GP but insanely high IBS. And no, there is no benefit to breeding these offspring since skills play no part in the quality of offspring.
