Teams

I see a lot of teams around but I cant find any information on them and have some questions I am hoping people might answer,
1) What is the benefit of owning or being in team? Are there any perks associated?
2) What makes people what to join a team?
3) I often find horses are part of a team and cannot be bred but why is this?

In addition to perks for having a rated affix (read more in the breeders’ manual!) you get the collaborative efforts of a group of people to advance a breeding line and increase GP. It also gives you access to the top horses in a game which are valuable for competition and earnings. Teams also offer a prize pot for team horses sold for passes that can be distributed to the members of the team periodically. The reason they can’t be bred is because of a feature howrse implemented to protect breeding lines from 1. Bitter ex teammates and 2. Accidental sales
