Chance playing in comp results

Hi all,

I am curious if anybody knows a quantitative estimate of how much chance plays in a competition result?

I've been entering two of my horses to the same competitions, they both have the exact same bonuses but one has about 200 skills points more in every skill, so this one is objectively better. Now, the best one has been winning most of the competitions, but sometimes the lesser one will win. I guess I don't mind because they're both my horses and a win is a win but it's a bit strange haha.

Thank you!

** correction: the better horse has 100-150 skills points more, not 200, sorry about that

Lack of health or morale lowers the performance of the horses when entering competitions.
Also some competitions have a random factor, namely Western Pleasure and Show-Jumping. It shows when your horse makes a mistake and places worse than it should be, due to time penalty (e.g. 2 min 22”16, and 1 fault).

I suppose no one did a stats study on this then, but thank you nevertheless!
