Have you just started your Ephemeral breeding and feel a little lost?

Don't worry! We're here to explain the mechanics and make life easier for you. This FAQ will cover gameplay questions and planning/general ones.

Ephemeral Appaloosas - Specific features:
↪ Immortal
↪ Age in 6-month increments
↪ Specialized in Western
↪ Cannot be registered in an Equestrian Center
↪ Can carry the following Black Market items:
➞ Always allowed: Ploutos' Parchment, Black Orchid, Hypnos' Blanket, Philosopher's Stone.
➞ Allowed this season: Philotes' Stroke, Chronos' Timer, Aphrodite's Tears, Zeus' Lightning Bolt.

General FAQ

↪ Where can I find the Ephemeral Breeds event?
Like all events, you can find the Ephemeral Breeds event on the menu at the top of your page.

Your Ephemeral horses are waiting for you in a dedicated tab on your Breeding farm.

↪ Is the Ephemeral Horses event available on the mobile version?
For now, the mobile version is not available for this event.

↪ How can I purchase the Season Key?
You can purchase the Season Key with real money. The price is determined based on the version you are playing.

↪ Can I unlock the Season Key later during the event?
Yes. You can purchase the Season Key at any time while the event is active and still receive previously unlocked rewards.

↪ Will all the players who buy the Season Key get the Rainbow horse of their choice if they collect enough horseshoes?
All players who have unlocked the Season Key and collected at least 4,000 Ephemeral horseshoes by completing their Season Pass objectives will earn a Rainbow horse of their choice.

↪ What happens to unclaimed Season Pass rewards?
Any unlocked but unclaimed rewards are automatically granted at the end of the event.

↪ Are Appaloosas the only ephemeral horses that can be bred during the event?
Appaloosas were chosen by our ambassadors during the event production phase. The breed will be different for the next edition!

↪ Do my Ephemeral horses remain at my breeding farm once the event is over?
At the end of the event, your Ephemeral horses disappear from your breeding farm.

↪ How can I win a Heritage horse? Which horse from my ephemeral breeding will become my Heritage horse?
Breed at least five Ephemeral Foals to see your Ephemeral Appaloosa with the highest genetic potential transform into a special Heritage horse Appaloosa once the event is over.

↪ Do I get the items I used on my horses back once the event is over?
No. Once you use an item on your horse, you will not get it back at the end of the event.

↪ Do unspent Aging Points carry over to the next day?
As long as they are not used, your Ephemeral Aging Points remain stored in your inventory. They will only be removed at the end of the event.

FAQ - Objectives

↪ How can I give competition bonus points to my Ephemeral horses?
You can give your Ephemeral horses competition bonuses thanks to items, such as tack, or bonus items (whip, lunge, bell boots, horseshoe studs).

↪ Does the Color Bonus count towards the "Give your ephemeral horses 120 competition bonus points" daily objective?
Yes, the Color Bonus does count for this objective.

↪ If I purchase the Season Key late, will I receive the five extra horseshoes for all the daily objectives completed? Or are they not retroactive?
This perk is not retroactive: you will only receive the additional horseshoes for objectives completed after purchase.

↪ What is the difference between the "Daily objectives" and the "Seasonal objectives"?
Daily Objectives are the same during the event and reset every day at maintenance time. Furthermore, if you have unlocked the Season Key, you will receive 5 additional Ephemeral horseshoes by completing these objectives.
Seasonal Objectives can be completed as many times as you wish each day. Some of them change every day.

FAQ - Breeding

↪ How can I buy Ephemeral horses?
Two Ephemeral horses will be offered for sale every day. You will find them in a dedicated tab on the horse sales page.

↪ Why can’t I buy Ephemeral horses?
There are three reasons why you may be unable to purchase new Ephemeral horses:
➞ You have already purchased two Ephemeral horses today; you will have to come back tomorrow to get two new ones.
➞ You have been banned from sales.
➞ You are experiencing a known bug.

To fix this, you need to visit the desktop version of the game:
➞ If the sales tutorial is displayed, visit the sales page, and follow the steps.
➞ If the sales tutorial is not displayed, visit your Ephemeral horse, and age it at least once.

↪ Can I refresh the horses that are for sale?
Every day, two horses are offered for sale: they change at the game update. You cannot refresh them manually.

↪ How is the genetic potential of horses offered for sale calculated?
The foal (sold for Equus) has a base genetic potential of 300, to which 15 points are added per day since the launch of the event.
The horse (sold for Passes) has a genetic potential equivalent to that of the player's best horse. However, if the player's best horse has a genetic potential lower than that of the foal offered for sale, then the horse's potential will also be set at 300 + 15 points per day since the start of the event.

↪ How are covering prices calculated?
Veterinary fees double with each covering and reset daily.

↪ How can I get Ephemeral Aging points?
You can get them through:

Thanks to your loyalty (15 if you log in 5 days straight).

Randomly, when the Ephemeral horses you are taking care of wake up.

With Passes (up to 4 times per day).

↪ How can I get more horses?
To get more horses, you can:
➞ Purchase them, up to a limit of two per day.
➞ Breed your horses to obtain even more.

FAQ - Player's ranking

↪ How can I unlock the player’s ranking?
Unlock the player’s ranking after five ephemeral foals' births. The foals you purchase do not count as one of your births.

↪ How does the player’s ranking work?
Players are ranked based on their horse with the highest genetic potential. The rankings are updated in real time, so feel free to check them out every time you play.

Ephemeral Breeds overview

Ephemeral horses
➞ Cannot be boarded in Equestrian Centers.
➞ Cannot be sold, traded, or gifted to other players.
➞ Cannot be retired or sent to Safe Haven.
➞ Cannot be kept after the event ends.

Breeding & genetics
➞ Cannot be crossed with classic horses.
➞ Do not contribute to classic breed rankings or objectives.

Items & bonuses
➞ Classic Aging points cannot be used on Ephemeral horses.
➞ Some Black Market items cannot be used on them.
➞ Unspent Aging Points don’t carry over to future Ephemeral Breeds Seasons.

Event progression
➞ Progression in the Ephemeral Breeds event does not affect classic gameplay.
