News from the peak of Mount Olympus!

Something big is happening on Olympus. It looks like the gods are on their way out.

27th January will mark the end of an era for the Ascent of Olympus, and a fresh new chapter for this game mode will begin.

The core idea stays the same, but the schedule will change: each season will now be followed by a three-week break, during which you won't be able to make progress in Olympus.

This means that Ascent of Olympus won't be available in the update planned on 27th January 2026. But don't worry! Your Obols and Drachmas are safe, and the divine horses who give you these coins will keep sending them your way until your inventory is full.

We'll share more details about the changes in the next update.

A new chapter of the Ascent of Olympus will begin on 17th February 2026, opening a mysterious new path for a whole new lineup of divine horses. Until then, enjoy the current version of the Ascent of Olympus: you still have three weeks left to get Zeus and the divine horses that come with him.

New event: The Ephemeral Breeds

A wind of change is blowing on Howrse! Starting 14th January, the first edition of the new "Ephemeral Breeds" event opens its doors, inviting you into a true race for top genetic potential. Raise a line of horses alongside the other breeds in the game and see how your skills stack up against other breeders. For this first edition, Appaloosas are getting a special limited-edition makeover, with genetic potential just waiting for you to develop it.

Throughout the event, you'll be able to breed your ephemeral foals, develop their genetic potential, and use special ageing points to accelerate their progress. By completing your objectives, you'll earn Ephemeral horseshoes, which help you advance in the Season Pass. You'll be rewarded with gifts and surprises along the way, and if you choose the Season Key you'll enjoy even more surprises.

After you've bred five horses, you'll gain access to the players ranking where you can track your position in real time against breeders on your server. The top players will get rare rewards and an exclusive badge.

When the event is over, the ephemeral horses will take their final bow... but not before leaving you something unforgettable. Your horse with the highest genetic potential will transform into a Heritage horse from a brand-new series of divine horses. Fully trained, it will be a constant reminder of your success in the event.

Ephemeral Breeds is a moment out of time, it's a challenge, a genetic race, and a chance to show off your breeding talent. Dive in and enjoy the adventure!
