Daily Objectives: Tips & Tricks

HellOw,

You can now complete two daily objectives each day! Some players can earn equus and others passes, depending on your seniority level.

Find your daily objectives on the homepage of the game, which is the page you see after logging into the game.

Completing the daily objectives seven days in a row will give a Horn of Plenty You can check on your progress through the gauge bar directly from the Daily Objectives.

Within this thread, players who need help, want to help, or just would like to share their progression with the daily objectives are welcome to post here.

All forum rules apply, which includes no advertising.

Warm Regards,
The Howrse Team

I'm beginning to find that most days the objectives cost more than they're worth. Like removing horns/wings, using specific BMIs, etc. For 30 passes. That's 0.3 of an old pass. Some days it's an easy few passes, but not as much as the previous system used to be.

Then there's objectives such as: change a meadows use, start production in a workshop, give birth to a unicorn, get the colour bonus with tack, etc. Some of which are virtually impossible to complete. I mean, short of ending several days worth of workshop production (and lose the resources put into the production) in order to start up a new production.

I might be worth spending a little more equus on completing objectives if the HoP went to the black market inventory rather than used instantly. HoPs are generally worth very little unless there is a divine over the weekend. Certainly doesn't make up for the 200+ fewer passes we can get per month.

this is the topic for complaining about the objectives. As per Cailow's request in the top comment.

And there was me thinking sharing experience of progression, or lack of, was welcome here. As per the top comment. My bad. Can't say anything on this server anymore. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

the top comment asks that we provide feedback in the appropriate topic. And its the constant sniping and complaining about everything that makes players feel that they can't say anything on the server anymore. It used to be much more friendly

I've had several objectives that absolutely cannot be met. How are we supposed to cover a draught mare if there are no stallions available to cover them? And removing horns from unicorns? Whilst this is possible, after awhile there will be none left and they are too hard to come by to just remove the horns for a few passes. I suspect the objectives are engineered to keep people from actually completing a full 7 days worth. I'm not particularly fond of the change in the racing either. I'm finding it increasingly more difficult or near impossible to find races that my horses can compete in aside from a few Ow Grand Prix and those are mostly useless. I like this game less and less with every new feature. Too bad, as up until recently, it's been a decent game of strategy.

I am quite happy with the objectives but I understand I have been playing this game for a long time and I have built up a stock of horses and BMIs .
There are male Draught horses out the in the sales for e's not cheap but you get a return of at least 3 or 6 if Fert Wands are used.
Unis are hard to come by but I breed them every day. I breeding stock can be started by buying 2 males which are cheaper and using a ZLB on one of them.
The races it seems if your horse hasn't got 20 wins the races offered is limited so get those wins any way you can rookie comps etc.
I hope this helps. default smiley (8)

hello anybody home
You can only win them through promos like the current Insect one, by being gifted one by a friend or by winning them in luck items such as HOPs

Hi, I have a question about the "Equip a horse with 2** Pink ear bonnet" objective.

If I purchase a horse from the sales that is wearing this tack and then remove it and equipped another one of my horses with it will that count?

Also the horses I have found in the sales have a 2** pink and black ear bonnet. Is this the same or are there just solid pink ones?

Many thanks!!

When you remove tack, it’s destroyed, so you can’t put it on another horse.
I think a pink and black one should work, but I’m not too sure

Hi,

I've just completed my 7 days of objectives but it won't let me use the horn of plenty?
Does anyone know how you claim them?

On the 7 day meter, you should see a little button under the HoP with the word "USE" on it - press that to claim your HoP (It takes you to the 'HoP opened' page and tells you what you have got) default smiley (y)
Unfortunately you can't keep the HoP... it has to be opened there and then default smiley :s

Objective No. 2
Give one of the 5 bonuses from the store to a horse

I had this one this morning and just to be clear, it is referring to the tack bonus items not the bonus BMis.

The reason I'm noting it here is that you don't need to buy the item from the shop, just using one from your reserve counts.
And if you are a VIP then giving your free whip also counts... default smiley (y)

I think it was mentioned in an earlier thread that the best way to look at this is as a long-term challenge... sure we can't do all of the objectives every time now, but having seen them once and failed, we are then equipped with the knowledge to be able to prepare for it next time...default smiley :p

For example - you are correct, it would be ridiculous to suggest that you end workshop production just to meet an objective. However, knowing that this objective could (and probably will) come along again, you can assign one of your workshops for producing items on a daily turnaround. Saddle cloths and 2* Western Bridles are two of the most profitable items for manufacture (earnings per hour), and both are on a 10 hour production cycle. This means that you will always have a workshop ending production each day. default smiley (y)

Meadows should be fairly easy as long as you have an EC (if not, get one one! default smiley xd)... as you should be swapping your grazing meadows over each day - swapping from grazing to fallow and vice versa counts towards changing the use of a meadow default smiley :p

I've seen 'cover a unicorn' but not 'give birth to a unicorn' ( I wait in eager anticipation.. not! default smiley xd) The first is easy enough to prepare for... buy a female uni and have her ready for covering... If it is the latter than the only way to prepare would be to go after a Hestias gift next time they are in a promo...default smiley :s (TBH that would be too much of an outlay for me too!!! default smiley xd)

Colour bonus and 2* tack is again a matter of accumulating stock over time... I've got loads but still fail this objective cos I'm asked for colours I haven't got default smiley :s However, these items can be gifted between friends and it may be worth groups of like-minded players getting together to create "Swapshops" - where you have to have a minimum number of items to join, and then you help each other out with objectives...? Just a thought...default smiley (8)

Enough of my rambling - hope it helps a little default smiley :-))

It isn't possible to do this. You can buy items from the exchange for equus or swap them for an item you already own and they will go into your inventory You can win items in promotional events that go into your inventory and can then be traded in the item exchange.

i have 2 questions
when will the next event be and how do you complete daily objectives that you cant help such as be congratulated 2 times and age a horse to 15 years

You can usually find out what contest is coming next in the Events forum 'Spoiler Zone' topic.

Its very easy to get two congratulations - just go on a congratulations spree yourself. Start with people who have congratulated you in the past, and then go to people that have congratulated them, and so on. The more recently they have congratulated someone else, the more likely they are to see your congratulations and return them.

Aging a horse to 15 years is a little bit harder, but not much. You can buy a horse close to that age in the sales, or look for a M Arms to put on one of your horses if you dont have any near that age.

If you own any kind of pegasus, go to the horse's caretaking page and you'll find a button "remove its wings" there.

But be aware that, if it's a horse wearing customization, it will lose its coat for good by doing so! Therefore it is always wiser to remove wings from a pegasus without any customization apart Medusa's Blood default smiley ;)
