Is the guarantee of getting a gold/diamond card after a certain number of purchased card packs still going?

That only existed in the old versions of the Card event (last was three iterations ago I think, when the new divine was still the main prize instead of this event also being infected with the Crown) where the Packs were a weekend promo and standard was just being able to buy single Cards.
There's no guarantee anymore due to likely being considered unnecessary both due to the removal of a whole Puzzle that included three Diamond Cards, the addition of a guaranteed Diamond/Gold as login bonus and the prizes (including the Diamond gift, which used to be a divine) being so bad that way less people would even buy the Packs and they instead could afford to replace the single Card with three without increasing the price.
Only promos now I believe are the three Cards at cheaper (or is it six Cards for the current price?) and last weekend overpriced Joker Packs.

I got a joker, can I keep it until I have more cards or will it disappear if I don't use it today?

You are safe to keep it. I always keep mine till the final days, to ensure max value.

For your query, getting a gold/diamond card is not guaranteed after a certain number of purchased card packs.

As with all of our events, it is randomized and should be easy to complete for those who play regularly.

Absolutely one of my fav events - lots of prizes for bare minimum effort

does anyone know what the gifts are?

On the card page, you can scroll down to find all of the cards offered along with their respective gifts.

The first section, just below where you can scratch & activate the cards you have, display the 5 different puzzles. The prize is shown at the far right of the row; gain all 5 cards of a single row to get the prize.

Keep scrolling to find the gift cards - here you can click on any that you don't have yet to turn them over and view what the gift is. They will only be turned over for a couple of seconds.

I got Ti Amo today! No passes spent!

The game was veryyyy reluctant to give me the last silver (and last card overall!) I needed for Ti Amo, but I finally grabbed him today. Lovely event, super easy and some nice prizes

20 hours and 30 minutes until the next card, omg the audacity, the joke, I laughed so hard seeing that but it's so sad too

I've been needing only one last diamond card for almost a week now. Literally any diamond card, I'll pay to trade it if necessary. But after getting everything free every day, keeping a keen eye on the sales (been entirely unlucky) and buying 3 weekend packs (6 cards each) I still can't seem to get my hands on it!!

This is my first event after a long time away, is there any way I can up my chances? What can I do?

Also, what time zone is the cutoff in? I'd figure UK time but the game seems adjusted to my time zone so maybe the shown times adjust?
