My main game is on the international server where I've been a Top-10 player for about 13 years (15+ years seniority) and was on the mod team for just under 5 years b1b6a66667260b562004585b2c72b31c.png

Dr Zig's famous training/blupping guides from INT

With the grouping together of rides into mountain rides (speed, stamina, trot) and forest (dressage, gallop, jump), and beach rides not restricting you to transferring skills from the lowest actual one to the highest actual one, these are some suggestions for how you might train and blup your horses.

Do each activity in order, and do each activity until you are no longer gaining any skills from it. When you have finished gaining skills, then the activity is finished. You can, of course, go on earning equus from competitions forever, if your horse lives that long :p

You start their rides after they finish foal games, so from 1 year 6 months old. Riding lessons and training start from the age of 2, and competitions cannot be done before the age of 3. Riding lessons (called missions from about Feb 2015) are optional, and they do not have any effect on your horse's blup, but they are extra bonus skills for your horse, and extra equus for you, so I would recommend that you always do them anyway.

You can use beach rides whenever you like after the age of 5. I like to move stamina skills on to dressage skills with most of my horses. If I am skilling a KWPN for the Grand Prix, then I move stamina on to jump instead. Obviously I will boost stamina if skilling a vanner for the cross country Grand Prix.

I have named some breeds as examples, but not all. If your breed is not mentioned then look at its genetics and see which event suits it best. It will be the one that uses its best three genetic skills. If your horse is crossbred, then look at its three best genetic skills to work out what might suit it best.

* * * * *

If your horse's genetics make its best classical event *showjumping* (e.g. Selle Francais, KWPN, Australian Pony, Hanoverian, Shetland, morgan) or *trot* (e.g. Peruvian Paso, French Trotter, standardbred) then try this:
* forest rides
* dressage training
* jump training
* speed training
* trot competitions
* gallop competitions
* gallop & trot training
* mountain rides
* cross country competitions
* stamina training

If your horse's genetics make its best classical event *gallop* (e.g. thoroughbred, quarter horse, paint horse, marwari, appaloosa, PSH) or *cross country* (e.g. vanner, arabian, shagya arabian, Canadian, donkey) then try this:
* mountain rides
* dressage training
* speed training
* trot competitions
* gallop competitions
* forest rides
* showjumping competitions
* jump training
* gallop & trot training
* cross country competitions
* stamina training

If your horse's genetics make its best classical event *dressage* (e.g. Lusitano, Friesian), then try this:
* mountain rides
* gallop & trot training
* dressage competitions
* dressage and speed training
* showjumping competitions
* jump training
* forest rides
* cross country competitions
* stamina training

If your horse's genetics make its best western event *barrel* (e.g. mustang, fjord, paint horse, marwari, PSH, thoroughbred) then try this:
* forest rides
* dressage training
* jump training
* stamina training
* western pleasure competitions
* reining competitions
* trot and gallop training
* mountain rides
* barrel competitions
* speed training
* trail competitions

If your horse's genetics make its best western event *cutting* (e.g. Argentinean Criollo, arabian vanner, morgan, Canadian) then try this:
* forest rides
* dressage training
* jump training
* trot training
* trail competitions
* mountain rides
* reining competitions
* gallop training
* speed training
* cutting competitions
* stamina training

If your horse's genetics make its best western event *western pleasure* (e.g. Tennessee Walker, hackney, Friesian) then try this:
* forest rides
* jump training
* stamina training
* dressage training
* reining competitions
* gallop training
* mountain rides
* barrel competitions
* speed training
* western pleasure competitions
* trot training
* trail competitions

If your horse's genetics make its best western event *trail* (e.g. Nokota, friesian, KWPN, knabstrupper) then try this:
* mountain rides
* forest rides
* jump training
* trot training
* trial competitions
* dressage training
* stamina training
* reining competitions
* gallop training
* barrel competitions
* speed training

If your horse's genetics make its best western event *reining* (e.g. quarter horse, marwari, thoroughbred vanner, Irish hunter) then try this:
* mountain rides
* forest rides
* jump training
* trot training
* trial competitions
* dressage training
* speed training
* cutting competitions
* stamina training
* reining competitions
* gallop training

Every breed on the game can use one of these guides. Every breed that will be added to the game can use one of these guides. Even mixed breed horses can use these guides.

I have named some breeds as examples, but not all.

If your breed is not mentioned then look at its genetics and see which event suits it best. It will be the one that uses its best three genetic skills. If your horse is crossbred, then look at its three best genetic skills to work out what might suit it best.

Many say: but my horse's top 3 skills do not match any event.

That does not matter. Many won't. See what's the closest match. Look then too at its fourth best skill.

For example, an Irish Hunter has dressage, stamina, gallop as its best three skills. That suits reining. But what if you want to make it classical instead? Those three skills do not match any event. But look at its fourth best skill: jump. Cross country is stamina, dressage and jump, so that is the closest match :)

These are the skills required for each type of competition, listed in order of importance i.e. the main skill, then the two secondary skills:

* cross country = stamina, dressage, jump
* gallop = gallop, speed, dressage
* trot = trot, speed, dressage
* showjumping = jump, speed, dressage
* dressage = dressage, trot, gallop

* cutting = stamina, dressage, speed
* reining = gallop, dressage, stamina
* trail = dressage, trot, jump
* western pleasure = trot, stamina, dressage
* barrel = speed, stamina, gallop
